Teaching aims:
1. To extract information from a student profile.
2. To write notes about a student profile.
3. To extract information form a conversation.
Teaching procedures
Step 1: warming up
Show Ss pictures and let Ss talk about the problems they have and offer their advice.
Step 2: presentation
1. Talk about one student’s problems and try to give her some advice.
2. Read Sue’s profile and complete the notes with as much information as possible.
3. Listen to the dialogue between Sue and Sigmund Friend to finish all the notes.
4. Memorize Sue’s information and answer some questions.
Step 3: Writing
1. Help Sigmund Friend complete his report.
2. Point out some important language points.
Step 4: listening and speaking up
1. Talk about the persons they usually talk to, when they have problems.
2. Listen to the dialogue and find out Mille’s problems.
3. Read the dialogue.
4. Make up a similar dialogue to talk about their own problems.
Step 5: Discussion
1. Watch an advertisement and find out their problems.
2. Discuss “what do you think of your life\problems, after watching it?”
3. Show my advice with students.
Step 6: conclusion

1. write down three problems and find out three ways to deal with these problems.
2. Read the Part A3.
