Teaching Objectives:
● To listen for and identify specific information and fill in the blanks with the information.
● To write plans for a charity show.
● To talk about details about a charity show and make suggestions and offer help.
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show a picture about some homeless children with poor clothes.
T: Those homeless children need help. What can we do to help them?
S: (organize a charity show, advertise on the Internet, give out leaflets...)
T: If we organize a charity show for them, what are the first decisions that we have to make?
(help students to answer: name;date, time, place and ticket price)
T: To organize the show better, we still have to do a lot of work. Can you advise me how to make the show more successfully?
(lead in some important phrases: design the poster; organize a play; set up a stage; be the host of the show...)
2.Read these new phrases together and ask them try to remember them.
Step 2 Listening
1. T: The Class 1, Grade 8 students are planning their charity show. Would you like you join them?
Ss: Yes.
T:They're having a meeting to talk about the work for the show. What will each student do for the charity show? Listen carefully and fill in the table.
2. Listen for the second time.
3. Check answers. (ask students to state the answers with full sentences.)
Step 3 Practising
1. Ask students to fill in the blanks in Part A3 using the information in Parts A1 and A2.
2. Check the answers.
3. Read the passage together.

Step 4 Speak up
1. T: Just now, we've learnt a lot about the work before a charity show. Can you make a summary for us? (Discuss and present)

1. T: Our class is also organizing a charity show. Can you make up similar dialogues?
2. Act dialogues out.
